Pakistan-born actress Veena Malik has already attained tremendous criticism at home and abroad for her tendency of exhibiting flesh and sexual "bites" in addition of her marvellous acting zeal. Because of her huge demand as one of the top-grading sex-symbols of today's cine-world in the Indian sub-continent, even her critics believe, one day, very soon, Veena Malik may ultimately step into Hollywood, and even in the much-desired roles in James Bond 007 series. Within a very short span of time, Veena has already become a potential threat to many of her contemporary actresses in Bollywood as well as sub-continental cine industries. Now she will be seen grooving to salsa beats for a new ad for aphrodisiac product Stay On and says that the dance form gives her "exhilarating freedom. Dancing is my passion and salsa is a new thing for me. I am quite nervous and excited about this project. Salsa is like good music, it elevates the spirit and it's an exhilarating freedom," Malik said in a statement.
The dance has been choreographed by Longinus Fernandes, known for choreographing "Jai Ho" for Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire and "Pappu Can't Dance Saala" for Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Naa, and he is impressed with the way the actor has performed.
"Veena is crazy about dancing. She is a good dancer and has the skill to adapt a dance move and present it beautifully. She is a dancing star," he said.
Meanwhile, Veena Malik has a host of films in her kitty. She has finished shooting for Mumbai 125 km, Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai and Zindagi 50-50. Currently she is filming Rajani Ki Toh Lag Gayi and soon she will start working on Supermodel with Ashmit Patel.
She has also been signed on for the Kannada version of The Dirty Picture, about which the actor has said, "I am quite excited to be part of the film. I have heard the story and it looks quite interesting." Adding that, "As the lead heroine, I will get a lot of opportunity to perform. Will she or won't she? That was the big question on everyone's mind till the lady in question, Pakistani actor Veena Malik landed upin Bangalore to announce her participation in the Kannada film, Dirty Picture, Silk Sakkat Hot Maga! The actor, who was supposed to make an appearance in the city earlier this month, had to postpone her trip following a CBI inquiry regarding her visa. But with things now in place, the starlet was in Bangalore on Friday to be part of a photo shoot for the film. "The photos have come out beautifully. They are very trendy and sexy. We tried eight different looks and even though I was getting tired as we were shooting late into the night, every time I was presented with a costume, I was like, 'this is even better, let's try it out'!" says Veena, who is all excited about her role in the film. While her team can't stop complimenting her professionalism and patience, we feel a lot of it has to do with the huge pay package she has been roped in for. "Money looks good; it's definitely among the first thoughts that came to my mind when I was offered the film. The team was also good, but I am very particular about the kind of roles I do, so ultimately it was the script that made me agree. It, in fact, moved me to tears," she says.
Dirty Picture tells the story of a girl who comes to Bangalore to become an actor. "The lead character's name is Silk and thus, the film has been called so. It doesn't entirely revolve around the life of South Indian actor Silk Smitha as many believe. Only three scenes will talk about her. And if you ask why use the words 'Dirty Picture,' it's only because the film highlights the dirty games people play in our society to get famous. So, it has nothing to do with the Hindi film that has the same name," says director Trishul chipping into the conversation. "Though it is the story of a girl, it has a simple yet worthy message for men. In fact, as an actor I could relate a lot to this character as I have struggled a lot to get to where I am today," says Veena. And what does she have to tell to all the young girls out there who are aspiring to make it big and live their dreams?
"Dream big and to make them come true just believe in yourself," she says before heading out of the city to complete five of her Hindi film commitments before commencing the shoot of Dirty Picture.
The film will go on floors in the second week of June. Akshay is the hero. The team is also likely to rope in a popular South Indian superstar to play an important role in the film. The film will be shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa and Sri Lanka.
Too hot to handle:
The controversy queen, quite comfortable with her bolder self, has donned a bikini for the publicity of her first film. Since Dal Mein Kuch Kala Hai is a naughty comedy about love, lies and the lust for money, Veena Malik is posing in a bikini top, holding loads of money close to her bosom and sitting provocatively, wearing a thong and showing her toned naked legs.
For other photos she has gone for a red hot look, putting on display her ample curves and legs in a dress with tattered bottom. It can be easily assumed that Veena is the only star attraction in the film Dal Mein Kuch Kala Hai which has Raja Chaudhary (Shweta Tiwari's ex-husband and Bhojpuri baddie) as her hero. The movie marks the directorial debut of Bollywood B-lister Aanand Balraj, and surprisingly also stars the talented Vijay Raaz.
